My mum's being really nice o.o She hasn't made a snide comment about the growing collection of robots in a very long time and she like... said that she accepts that I'm working hard. This could very well be a major breakthrough.

On the other hand, I've come to the conclusion that my new Latin Literature teacher/ head of the Classics department is a complete and utter arse. Basically, we had a mock of the Latin Background Paper today, which is mostly about daily life in Roman society (The Forum, the house, etc). We have never seen what the papers look like before.

So, I felt quite justified when I asked the simple question: "What kind of questions are they going to ask?" Meaning will they be essay questions? Comprehension? One-words answers?

And he says "Oh, you'll see."

Well that's helpful. I asked him because I didn't KNOW. There's no point in saying THAT, so that I can fail the mock, is there? And god, it's only a mock, he's allowed to tell us. He told some of the other girls, but not me. Funny, that.

Not only that, but I went to see my head of year on monday about Latin and Ancient Greek and the possibility of dropping Greek and picking it up again in the Sixth Form. She told us that the Latin mock from before Xmas was an off the shelf exam paper. Basically, the reason we all did so badly is because our moron of a head of department picked up a randon paper and said "This'll do". We haven't finished the course yet. So, we all failed because we haven't been TAUGHT what was on that paper. In every other subject we got papers customised or chosen to include only what we'd covered, or if we'd already covered everything THEN we got an off the shelf paper.

This might seem trivial but it's really pissing me off. Because now this Latin teacher is saying things like "Oh, in the PRIVATE SCHOOL I worked at before the students had been studying Latin since year 7."

Well, we're NOT a private school. Sorry about that, but you might have wanted to check before you came to work here. Sorry our parents aren't filthy stinking rich and we start Latin in year 9.

This guy so has it in for me. He tells ME off when I'm being perfectly quiet but other people are talking. He tells ME off when the girl sitting next to me pokes me and I shout "Hey!". This is getting ridiculous now xD
